Hair today, gone tomorrow.

Today I decided it was time for the beard to go. Sick of getting icicles stuck in it when I am snowboarding.

Before -

The remnants. Darragh is going to glue them to his genitalia so it looks like he is old enough for pubes.

No more beard.

Trans Am and party time!

Yesterday I went up to Northstar and watched the Transworld Trans Am snowboard comp. I was a pretty awesome set-up with kids going upside down everywhere. They are crazy these days. Heres the set-up -

Kumara getting some rad air -

The hcsc marshmallow -

Levi and I got free trucker huts, we shredded in them, awesome -

The latest in swedish fashion -

I have worked out why american kids are so fat. This is a kids meal, I couldnt eat it all.

Afterwards I went to a friends going away party in Kings Beach. Things got a little loose.

Was a fun night. Off to Northstar to shred again today. Snow forecast for the next week too. Yay!

Squaw

Today we heard that there was $25 lift tickets for Tahoe employees over at Squaw Mountain. So I did my best impression of a Northstar Lifty, got a ticket and went shredding there.

This hill is insane. Lifts go up sheer cliffs, and there is drops and chutes everywhere with crazy powder. First we jumped on the gondola. It holds 110 people and takes you up 2000ft in about 8 minutes. It was a good opportunity to get a good view of the mountain (yes, that is a cliff we are going over in the gondola).

We went for a hike up the hill into an are filled with drops and cliffs. I have never hit a run where you can do 7 cliff drops in a row. All of them huge. Was really fun.

Pick your cliff drop line!

Check out how gnarly the lifts are here.

Riding the chair with my new shred buddy Ms Kumara Kelley -

STEEEEEEP tree run -

After a burrito for lunch Kumara decided she wanted to go tree climbing while we were waiting for the boys to come.

Squaw is an awesome mountain and one of the most extreme terrains I have ever seen. Hopefully will go back again before the end of the trip.

Wow, just wow!

Last night we went down to the T Bar in Truckee and had a couple of beers but it was ridiculously packed so we didn't stay long. Heres the usual crew -

Wore this hat for a bit, full redneck styles -

On the way home it started snowing. So we decided to wake up early and drive the hour to Sierra to get some fresh snow. This turned out to be an amazing decision as it probably snowed about 20 inches and was up to my chest deep in a number of places. Amazing.

Just to give you an idea of how much it was snowing, here is the car when we left it in the morning.

And now when we got back about 5 hours later -

Now for some pow shots (sorry Roddy) -

Alex hit a tree -

Icy beard -

The crew -

A vid of Alex slashing it up -

Driving home was crazy! So much snow...

I am absolutely convinced this place is heaven. Today was the best powder day I have ever had. Thanks to Alex for driving us down there.

Might go back again tomorrow to do it all again.

Calneva

Last night we went out to a bar on the state line. It was a place with a bit of history, apparently JFK brought Marilyn Monroe here for sexy times. Also it has an underground tunnel system linking California and Nevada so the mafia could cross the state line and gamble back in the day. Anyhow, I will let the photo's do the talking again...

We ended up with this jazzed up 3d avatar glasses somehow...

Whats up Elton?

The bar even has a line down the middle for the state line. Pretty cool.

Elvis -

Sean and I snuck in to the "Frank Sinatra Room" and watched a band called The Glitch Mob. It was three dudes playing touch pads and drum machines live with a dj. Pretty amazing live show. Glad I didn't pay the $25 cover charge though.

Back up to the hill today for some more snowboarding. I love America.

Oh and also good to see Demonland get up in the forum footy match back home. Go dee's.
