To the five boroughs...

Yesterday I boarded a flight from Reno to come to New York with a stopover in San Fran on the way. The first leg went ok, but the second was the worst flight I have been on.

Firstly this fat, smelly, massive black dude was sitting next to me. He was doing everything in his power to be a complete dick. As he was so huge, his arm was constantly pressed hard up against mine, and I was pressed up against the window. Due to me being in this sandwich position, I could feel the guys sweat on my arm, just gross. His smell was a cross between musk and baked beans, and he insisted that he use the only power plug in our row for his laptop. On this he watched soft euro porn for the whole flight, ignoring the fact the kid on the other side was about 13 and loving it. I managed to get back at him a little though, I kicked his power cord out every now and then. When he would bend down to plug it back in and when his head was near my ass I would let out a decent silent fart. Karma. I caught his name when was on facebook. Winston Moralez, you are an ass hat.

Anyhow, we landed in New York and sat on the tarmac for 45 minutes as there was a plane in our gate. This meant I missed my pre-booked shuttle bus to my hotel. I rang the shuttle company only to be told I was too late and I would have to find another way to my hotel.

I jumped on the subway, having no idea what stop my hotel was near. Everyone else on the train was either a sleeping Mexican, or a stinky homeless bum.

I guessed pretty good where my hotel was and caught a cab the remaining distance as it was pissing down. Finally crawled into bed at 4am.

Woke up at 8 to go see the sights of NYC. Heres some photo's as I have already rambled enough this post.

View from my room -

Home of the knicks, go Ewing! -

Times Square -

Will go to a gig here one day....

If only I was here on these dates.

Trump tower -

Central Park, I ran into a homeless old lady who gave a turtle dove and taught me the true meaning of christmas. (Thats a home alone 2 reference for all you old relo's that read this).

This is totally where Macauley escaped the bad guys on the ice skating rink.

I caught a subway downtown to the site of the World Trade Centre. I visited the memorial museum thing and it was pretty amazing. Im not really one to get all choked up on this sort of thing but its an emotional thing to see. Really glad I went down and saw it.

The lady with the torch who came from the french people to the US people.

My hotel, apparently Titanic survivors stayed in my room. Apparently its haunted, pretty freaky.

Meeting up with young James Stevens shortly for beers and a gig at the Bowery Ballroom. I love NYC, could live here for sure.

Donner Pass Back Country Action.

Today we went up to Donner Pass up past Truckee so Sean could shoot a couple of the girls for a magazine. Darragh, Longy, and I went along for the ride to help build jumps and shred a little ourselves. There was 14 inches of fresh pow and sunny skies, a perfect day for shooting in the back country.

Darragh picked up a scab looking piece of Jerky on the way -

And rode a wave -

Radman getting his view on -

Climbing to get the shot -

While Darragh scoped a few other lines -

And then learnt backflips for the first time. I think its probably the only trick I have done before him.

Longy didn't have the best time trying backflips. I think he is getting old.

I did an ugly ugly tame dog -

An awesome day with a rad crew -

Poached the hot tub again tonight and off to New York early tomorrow morning. Exciting!

Kirkwood, animal parties, and char-pit.

Went over to Kirkwood with Timmy yesterday. Had an awesome day in the sun and fresh snow. One of the coolest resorts I have been to.

Shred buddy Tim -

Cliffs everywhere -

Small, but better than Buller's pipe? Yes.

The park -

The Cirque. I cannot believe people snowboard on this. Extreme.

The famous Kirkwood wave cornice -

Timmy shitting himself on top of the cornice -

Timmy dropping the cornice -

We went for a hike up to the summit. Timmy was struggling with the altitude -

On top of the world -

The view down, six of the best powder turns ever heading down -

That night we went hot tubbing up at Northstar.

And then to an animal themed house party in Kings Beach. Was a very fun night.

They had wallpapered light switches which I thought was funny.

Kumara, Radman and some random dude.

Tim lost his jumper so he walked home in a blanket -

Today to kill off the hangover we went to Char-pit. All I can say is it was amazing.

Sleep and then hot tub tonight. Off to NY on Sunday.

Yet another bluebird powder day.

Another 8-10 inches of snow overnight and blue skies.

Shredded the morning with Corey, a dude from Perisher and top bloke.

We found a whole bunch of drops and stuff. He had a goggle strap cam so hopefully I'll get some footage off that.

In the arvo went and met the Swede's and rode the back of the hill. It was a bit better snow over there.

We did a run through The Stash. Heres the Swede's ripping it up.

The view to the lake -

View out to Squaw -

We went for a hike.... untracked, fresh, deep powder.

Jonatan dropping off -

Another awesome day at Northstar. Probably poach a hot tub tonight and do it all again tomorrow.
